Dr. Sonia Tiwari
Dr. Sonia Tiwari is the Director of Research at Oki Pie Lab, exploring the role of characters as facilitators of children's learning experiences. With a background in Character Design and a PhD in Learning Design, she develops character-themed activities & resources that support creative joy & intergenerational connection.Her research on ethical design of AI characters for education has been presented at UC Berkeley, Stanford, Harvard, UPenn, National Geographic Society, and UNICEF Communities of Practice, among other venues. Her research on character-themed expressive arts workshops received an Outstanding Design Case Award by American Educational Research Association.
